The PSLF webinar will feature DC 37 MELS Supervising Attorney Joseph Davidson, Esq., and experts from PSLF.nyc who are very familiar with the Student Loan Forgiveness program and can help DC 37 members apply for student debt relief.
The U.S. Department of Education will forgive many federal student loans for government or nonprofit workers, regardless of whether you graduated. More than 5 million public servants are now eligible for student loan forgiveness. About 175,000 of us have already received an average of nearly $60,000! You could be next! Time is running out. The PSLF waiver expires on MONDAY October 31. You must ACT NOW!
Parents who have consolidated their children’s student loans also are eligible to have federal student loans erased.
* All student loan borrowers should start with the Help Tool at the U.S. Department of Education website: StudentAid.gov/PSLF. You must lock-in by Oct. 31.
* A 30-Minute PSLF Self Service Tool is available to walk any borrower through the necessary steps to meet the October 31 deadline in just 30 minutes.
DC 37 members who are eligible to receive services from the Municipal Employees Legal Services (MELS) program may contact the MELS Screening and Intake Unit to request information, advice, and assistance with the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, loan review and research, and instruction on accessing all necessary documents.
