Commuted Card – Unrestricted
This option is a reloadable prepaid card that stores the value of your pretax and post-tax payroll deductions to be used for purchasing transit products and paying parking fees. You will receive one card, which is funded bi-weekly with a specified amount. The Commuter Prepaid Mastercard is accepted at transit agencies, fare vending machines, designated transit retail centers where transit products are sold, and at qualified parking facilities in the New York tri-state area.
You can elect to have any deduction amount up to Federal pre-tax transit limits, which is currently set at $300 pre-tax per month (effective January 2023). Deductions exceeding the monthly pre-tax limit are allowed, but the amount over the pre-tax limit will be deducted post-tax. You will receive a Commuter Card that can be used to purchase qualified transportation media from local and regional carriers’ vending machines, ticket booths or websites such as the Long Island Railroad, Metro-North Rail Road and New Jersey Transit. You will pay an administrative fee of $1.25 per month through post-tax payroll deductions.
Transit Pass
This plan allows you to arrange for home delivery of your transit provider passes and tickets through the CUNY provider, Edenred Commuter Benefits Solutions. You can select from their extensive catalog of transit providers and transit passes covering the New York TriState area. In this plan, you fund an account with Edenred with your pre-tax and post-tax payroll deductions and you can select a pass on the Edenred website using the funds in your account. Edenred will deliver your pass or ticket to your designated mailing address by the 1st day of each calendar month except for Metro-North Rail Road and Long Island Rail Road tickets, which are mailed directly from Metro-North and LIRR, respectively.
Edenred also allows you to securely supplement purchases on their website with your personal credit card to ensure you always have enough funds for your purchases. Additionally, you can purchase multiple items such as train tickets and MetroCards. With the Transit Pass option, you pay a monthly administrative fee of $2.05 per month through post-tax payroll deductions.
Please make sure that your election on the Edenred Commuter Benefit Solutions site reflects your correct fare or you may not receive your monthly ticket. You can also voluntarily store a credit card just in case your monthly election with Edenred Commuter Benefit Solutions is insufficient to purchase your monthly ticket.

You must be jointly enrolled in one of the above transit options in order to enroll in this option. You will incur an administrative fee of $2.05 per month for Park-n-Ride via post-tax payroll deductions.
